Default Memory
The following procedure should be followed anytime one of the
following occurs:
1) A processor board is changed.
2) The battery voltage was lost while the master switch is off.
(Corroded battery terminal or dead battery. Battery voltage
should be at least 3.5vdc.)
3) Memory has been corrupted or shifted, common when program mode
is exited wrong. (Turning the key when the entire phrase on
the top line is NOT flashing will shift and corrupt memory.)
4) Unrecognizable words or characters are shown.
(Foreign language displayed.)
5) Any of the following error messages appear:
A) CONFIGURE ERROR
B) FORMULA ERROR
C) OVERFLOW
PROCEDURE TO DEFAULT MARK I PROCESSOR
1) Turn the master switch off.
2) The positive wire (usually orange) should be pulled off the
battery and touched to the negative wire and held there for two
seconds. Reinsert the positive wire back on the battery.
3) Turn the master switch back on.
4) The display should read O>O>O>O> if in run mode or CONFIGURE
ERROR.
5) Turn the program key to program and the display should change
to the configure screen with the alphabet on the top line and
numbers underneath them. Insert the proper configure codes,
refer to the program manual or configure tag found on the
machine.
6) After the last configure decision is entered you will exit the
configure screen and should see "CREATE NEW FORMULA" flashing
on the top line of the display.
7) Turn the program key back to RUN, and push next. The display
should read "FORMULA ERROR".
8) Press the 4 + 5 + 6 keys down and hold them down, then turn the

FORMULA".
The default formulas have steam programmed so if the machine
doesn't have steam then you would need to take the steam decisions
out. After this the machine can be operated on one of the six
built in formulas.
APPLIES TO: Boards with part number 08BSPAAX. This is the newer replacement MKI boards. These boards have a separate battery board.
To default the Mark I processor,
1. Turn the master switch off.
2. Locate the RAM chips on the processor board. They are located in the same row as the software, in slots IC15, IC17 and IC20.
3. Swap locations of any two RAM chips. (Example: Remove IC15 and insert the chip from IC17 in its place. Insert the chip from IC15 in slot IC17.
4. Turn the master switch on. The display should read O>O>O>O> if in run mode or CONFIGURE ERROR.
5. Turn the program key to PROGRAM. The display will change to the configure screen with the alphabet on the top line and numbers underneath.
6. Insert the proper configure codes. Refer to the program manual or configuration tag on the machine.
7. After entering the last configure decision the programs exits the configure screen and flashes "CREATE NEW FORMULA" on the top line of the display.
8. Turn the program key back to RUN, and push next. The display should read "FORMULA ERROR."
9. Press the 4 + 5 + 6 keys down and hold, then turn the program key to program and release the keys. The display should read "PRESS INSERT FOR EXAMPLE FORMULAS."
10. Press and release the insert button. The display should flash "CREATE NEW FORMULA."
11. Press the next button slowly six times. The "CREATE NEW FORMULA" should flash again.
12. Turn the key to run and push NEXT. The display will read "RUN FORMULA."
NOTE: Default formulas have steam programmed. If the machine does not have steam, first configure the machine for steam, you must then remove the steam decisions from the formulas and then change the configure to the machine does not have steam.
