Fenwal Deflector

Applicability : Milnor Dryer Models 64058 and 72072TG1L and 72072TG1R

Depending on front and rear seal condition, small piece goods may be allowed into the exhaust air stream from the dryer. The goods may then impact the Fenwal temp switch in the exhaust duct and cause damage to the switch. We have found Fenwal temperature switches that are slightly bent at the solder joint between the outer casing and the hex coupling that makes up the mount for the switch. As the switch is bent, the trip point of the switch changes and gets lower. When the switch trips the sprinkler is deployed and causes a disruption in production. When diagnosing the error it may appear that the sprinkler went off for no apparent reason since the goods were not on fire and the temperature of the air was not too high (above 220 degrees F outlet). Normally the switch is replaced and the system again operates properly.

To help protect the switch, we have developed a deflector to be mounted in the exhaust duct in front of the temp switch. The deflector part number is 07-71040.
