Gsx-190 Printer

Setting up the Citizen printer for use on a Serial MILTRON.
The Citizen GSX-190 dot matrix printer (P/N 08MPSEREPN) can be configured to work like an Epson LX300 printer. It can be used in all aplications where we previously used the Epson LX300 printer. See the documents attached for the appopriate settings and cable wiring. EFH 1/17/02

To configure the GSX-190 you must have paper in the printer. Move the selector switch so that "menu" is displayed. Hold the menu button down for three seconds until the printer starts printing. You now are in the "VuePrint" (view print) mode. Since the printer does not have a display the printer uses paper to display information. Attachment "GSX-190 configuration" is an actual Vue Print copy.

How it works? You must remove the cover that hides the printer head. When you press the SELECT button the printer head indexes to below a selection. If that is the selection you want to make you press save. The printer will then print over you selection in bold indicating that, that is the configuration decision that has been made and then will allow you to make the next selection.

To double check that the dip switches are set correctly and that the configure decisions are correct. Turn the master switch off and then back on and hold down the print button. The printer should then print out a "Default Setting Report".
