Remote Monitors

When working with remote monitor displays for any Milnor Computer Screen Display, you will use a Transmitter and a Receiver unit. We are currently using units from NTI.

If the units are not connected or wired properly, the display will have poor color and graphic/screen resolution.

The transmitting unit can send out multiple outputs and is limited by the transmitter model. Milnor currently uses a transmitter that will send 8 outputs. At each display station there will be one receiver unit.
To connect the transmitter and receiver units for proper screen resolution.
- Connect the video output of the computer to Transmitter Video Input.
- Connect the Local Monitor cable to the Transmitter Video Output.
- Run a Cat-5 cable between the Transmitter Unit to the Receiver Unit.
- Connect a Video Cable between the Remote Display Monitor and the Receiver Video Output.

The connections must be in this setup in order to get the screen resolution that you need for Milmetrix. (1280 x 1024)

If you are having problems with colors of the display, the Receiving Unit may need to be calibrated for the video signal.
- On the top of the receiver unit, you will see a + and a - sign. You will find a button on the side of the receiver under the + sign. With the monitors operating, push and hold this button for 12 seconds using a pen or a pencil. This will calibrate the receiver unit.
