Ef3 To 8

EF3, EF4, EF5, EF6, EF7, or EF8 all mean External Fault on either S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, or S8.

S1 and S2 are inputs to the inverter that are preprogrammed and cannot be changed. S3 through S8 are all programmable and one of the options to program them is as an input to the inverter of an external fault condition that would require the inverter to shut down. This is done through Inverter Constants H1-01 through H1-06 for the respective inverter input.

You can monitor all inverter inputs at parameter U1-10 for a F7 drive. See your inverter manual for more information.
Clear the condition that is causing the external fault input to the inverter.

Look at your Milnor schematic book for the machine to see what is wired to that inverter input causing the fault condition to the inverter and troubleshoot accordingly.
