SUBJECT: CBW WASH MOTORS

Dear MILNOR Dealer/Customer:

The MKII MILNOR CBW has been furnished with 3HP wash motors since approximately May of 1991. These motors are built in a large frame and are thus able to dissipate much more heat.

Although early MILNOR CBW's uses 2HP motors, the 3HP motors may be intermixed with the 2HP motors because the new 3HP motor has exactly the same starting torque characteristics and therefore will not "hog" a larger share of the combined load. However, because the physical size of the 3HP motor is large, the recessed mounting brackets for the thermometer and /or temperature controller on the MKI CBW must be replaced by the new bracket. This bracket mounts the thermometer or temperature control outside the CBW frame, thus providing the necessary space for the larger frame 3HP motor.

A kit is available from MILNOR Parts with prefix KTWD551AA* (* represents the "volt code" which is application specific). This kit includes a 3 HP motor and the appropriate mounting hardware for the temperature control/thermometer. The 3HP motor became necessary for MKII tunnels because of the higher washing speed and taller ribs. The MKII model was developed to eliminate the wrinkling of shirt sleeves and pant legs in industrial garments.
