SUBJECT: CHANGES TO USER MANUALS, MACHINE NAMEPLATES, TAGS, ETC

Dear MILNOR Dealer:

Your will soon see major changes to documentation accompanying most new MILNOR machines.

These changes include such things as nameplates and tags with symbols, as well as multi-lingual operating manuals. This will make our machines as easy to use by many laundry personnel who don't speak English as by those who do. Also, we'll be prepared for the directives of the European Community and other markets considering similar directives.

Although there are some exceptions, you will soon begin seeing the following changes to new MILNOR machines:

1. Operator nameplates will have a whole new look. The nameplate background is white, all control functions are represented by symbols, and almost all words are removed.

2. A multi-lingual operator manuals will be provided. This manual identifies operator controls by their symbols, explains the functions of those controls, and provides operator instructions.

3. All safety placards/tags previously used on the machines have been replaced by a single symbolic safety placard and a multi-lingual safety manual explains in detail the hazards depicted by the safety placard.

4. All installation instructions previously provided on tags/ placards on the machine have been incorporated into a installation manual and the installation tags/ placards eliminated.

5. All service instructions previously provided on tags/placards on the machine have been incorporated into a service manual and the service tags/placards eliminated.

6. A small number of symbolic tags are now used on the machine to remind personnel to check the installation manual before proceeding with certain aspects of installation that could have serious consequences if improperly handled.

7. A typical set of manuals will consist of the following:

a. Installation Manual
b. Service Manual
c. Reference manual - This manual contains most of the information previously provided in programming, operating and troubleshooting manual.
d. Multi-lingual Operator Manual
e. Multi-lingual Safety Manual
f. Washer-Extractor only - Pumped Chemical Installation and Precautions Manual
g. CBW only - Waterflow Manual
h. Schematics and Electrical Parts Manual
I. External Fuse and Wire Manual

8. Enclosed is a cross-reference manual for nameplates and machine shipping tags.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding these document changes.

Thank you for your continuing confidence.

Very truly yours,
