Dorris Gear Reducer Spare Parts
Update :
In 2004 Dorris Co., who had made gear reducers for Milnor for many years, reorganized and was no longer able to supply gear reducers to Milnor. This required an immediate change to a new vendor and a development of a supply chain for functional equivalent gear reducers for all Milnor models using Dorris gear reducers. All model gear reducers are currently available as a complete replacement part.
Spare parts for Dorris gear reducers are no longer available from MIlnor. it is possible to replace bearings and gaskets using commonly available parts in the field but the shafts and gears are no longer available.

The Dorris Company has confirmed a procedure for buying parts for MILNOR gear reducers in-service in the field.
I . Call the Dorris Company at 1-800-325-2520 (314-423-7300) and ask for Sales - you will talk to one of their sales representatives.
2. They will first ask for the "SS number" on the gear reducer. From this number, Dorris can determine if the gear box is in current production or obsolete. If obsolete, they will not sell any parts for this gear reducer. If the gear box is in current production, they will give you part numbers of the necessary components.
3. You will then be referred to a distributor. They will probably give more than one name of a distributor in your area. The pricing levels of spare parts cannot be dictated by Dorris. You may wish to shop the price between the distributors you are given.
The pricing levels of spare parts for these gear reducers would normally guide you to buy a new gear reducer. However, if only a few internal components are needed, these components may be somewhat cheaper than a complete gear box.
MILNOR will not participate in the sale of spare parts due to the pricing levels from Dorris.
