SUBJECT: Lint Stripping With The MILNOR Dryvac

Gentlemen:

MILNOR dryer software, coupled with a MILNOR DRYVAC, automatically strips lint from the internal dryer lint screen at the end of every dry cycle. However, when processing conditions work with short dry cycles, we also allow a stripping cycle to be skipped if the total dry time is less than 12 minutes. A decision is offered in configuration of the dryer to "Loads Before Strip". This reduces the burden on the DRYVAC system while providing a dryer "waiting for load" more quickly. For example, if conditioning for 3 minutes, up to 4 loads could be run before the screen is stripped.

We see many dryers which are stripping far too many times in cases where conditioning work is run exclusively in some dryers. This configuration change is quite simple and can mean big dollars in efficiency enhancement.

As a side note, we have seen many installations clean DRYVAC bags one or twice a day. In extremely high production, we found it necessary to clean the bag 3-4 time a day to insure proper stripping of lint from the dryers. Remember, it is much easier to clean the lint bag than the lint screen in the dryer.
