SUBJECT: MILNOR'S 1995 PRODUCT LINE IMPROVEMENTS

Dear MILNOR Dealer/Customer:

I would like to take a few moments of your time to summarize some of the Engineering and product line improvements of 1995.

CE Nameplates - Beginning January 1, 1995, in order to sell MILNOR equipment to the Community of European nations, all operator and safety nameplates change to pictographs. This change affects the entire product line of MILNOR equipment. Descriptions of the pictographs can be found in each machine's safety and operator manuals.

Manuals Restructured - The other requirement for selling equipment to the European community is that safety and operator manuals must be in one of several major languages. At the current time, the safety and operator manuals are in English, German, French, Italian and Dutch, with plans to add other languages. The chart below shows how the rest of the manuals were restructured.

MANUALS PRIOR TO JAN 1995 MANUALS AFTER JAN 1995
Technical Reference Safety (Multi-language)
Operator (Multi-Language)
Reference (English only)

Parts Installation (English only)
Service (and parts) (English only)

MK III Control - In 1995 we also upgraded MK II controls to MK III (reduce wiring) controls. With MK III controls the 24 volt control power transformer has been eliminated and all control circuitry is 120 volts AC. The total number of relays inside the machines was also reduced. The reduction in relay came about by recapping certain computer controlled outputs (this makes software incompatible between MK II and MK III machines). Some relays were also removed be using DC proximity switches and DC photoeyes to make inputs directly, rather than controlling a relay and using its contact to make inputs. Because of these changes, special attention must be paid when integrating new equipment in older systems. MILNOR technical support can help with these needs.

80186 Processor - The 80186 processor was introduced for all devices using a color monitor. This includes the MILTRON, MILTRAC, DEVICE MASTER and LINEAR COSTA MASTER. The 80186 processor was also introduced for Denim/Textile machines. The new processor has higher speed and more memory capacity, which leads to improved programming capabilities. The Textile machines utilize a 4 line by 20 character vacuum florescent display for enhanced operator information.

Disk Brakes - Disk brakes were implemented on StaphGuard washer extractors. The new system replaces the older drum style brakes. The new system also makes an input to the microprocessor to inform plant personnel when the disk brakes need to be serviced. The new disk brakes can be retrofitted to older StaphGuard machines.

Flash memory download boxes - Audio cassette download boxes have been replaced with flash memory download boxes. The new download boxes offer more reliable memory and can transfer information at a much higher speed. The new boxes communicate at 9600 baud versus the audio cassettes transferring information at 300 baud. The download box for washer extractors, dryers and centrifugal extractors (part number KXMIC000508) are different than the download boxes for MILTRONS and MILTRAC (part number KXMIC00507). The download boxes are very affordably priced and highly recommended.

Restructured MILDATA Pricing - MILDATA pricing was restructured to make it much more affordable to MILNOR customers. We also offer programmers for CBW's Washer/Extractors and dryers. The programmers are used on a personal computer to program configuration, wash formulas and dry codes that can be downloaded to the machines through the serial port of the computer.

New Products -
42032F7J & 42032F7P were introduced at the Clean Show in New Orleans. The machine is a scaled up version of the successful 30022F8J. The machine utilizes a single motor with a variable speed drive for basket rotation. The machine has a dynamically tuned suspension to minimize transmitted vibration. The machine also features large access panels for easy service and maintenance.

Single Stage Press - A single stage press was introduced at the Clean show in New Orleans. The single stage press utilizes the next generation of peripheral boards. The new boards have LEDs for visual indication of inputs, outputs, and serial communications. The new style boards will be implemented in other product lines starting in 1996.
