SUBJECT: P/N 02-09140 - DOOR BUMPER

Dear MILNOR Dealer/Customer:

In the recent past we have had a number of door bumpers returned from the 35 to 135 pound washer/extractor product lines. We noticed that in many cases these gaskets are installed without adhesive. Frankly, this surprises us because we can't imagine these gaskets performing well and not being pulled from the door without a glue bond.

Additionally, there have been a number of failures in the seam of the gasket which we feel is aggravated by the fact that these gaskets are installed without adhesive. Granted, the seam should be as strong as the gasket itself. However, the adhesive does tend to allow the gasket to perform better through its very tough application.

The adhesive used at the factory is MILNOR p/n 20C044A. This is 3M 1300 which can be purchased locally or through the MILNOR Parts Department. We recommend that any door bumper installed on a MILNOR machine be adhered with glue. We are sure the glue application provides the best service life from this component.
