SUBJECT: PRESS DOME AIR CYLINDER

Dear MILNOR Dealer:

We have just learned that the spacing of the dome air cylinder is incorrect for some presses in the field.

You may notice "rippled" press beds as evidence of the spacing problem. (See Figure 1.1 below)

When the dome is in the down position, there might be a gap between the bottom of the air cylinder and the upper cross-member. If a gap exists (we believe the gap to be approximately 3/16"), MILNOR will ship a shim set to properly shim the air cylinder from the cross-member. In addition, if a shim set is employed, the main press up-lock may require replacement. Existing up-locks may hit the dome on a upward travel to the locked position. If so, replace the up-lock.

Please contact Harold Daigle, our CBW system product manager, at 504-467-9591, ext. 255, to order the retrofit kit. Please have the serial number and date code of the press available. You may also FAX this information requesting the retrofit kit - fax: 504-469-9777.

MILNOR will provide installation labor for placing shims and replacing the up-lock assembly. We anticipate this labor not to exceed 4 hours per machine.

We will notify all users of record in North America and Canada within the next 30 days. Customers outside of these territories must be contacted by their dealer to arrange for parts shipment and labor provision.

If you have any questions regarding the method of handling of this issue, please contact Gary Lazarre at ext. 353 or Harold Daigle at ext. 255, immediately.

Thanks for your assistance and

Best regards,
