SUBJECT: PROXIMITY SWITCHES FOR THE MEMBRANE PRESS
MILNOR P/N 09RPS30LOA OR 09RPS30LOB

Dear MILNOR Dealer/Customer:

A few years ago we converted the switching mechanism on the membrane press sled to a proximity switch from a rotary actuated micro-switch. After the implementation of the proximity switch, we realized that the proximity switch was not quite water tight and have since then experienced many failures of these proximity switches.

We have now source new micro-switch proximity switches which we feel are of much better quality than the previous purchase. Consequently, we are asking that you return any old type micro-switch proximity switches for replacement.

The following should help you determine which switches you have. The new switches are totally enclosed in metal. There is a rubber boot sealing between the metal and connecting wire. There are two 1/8" diameter holes used to fill the housing with sealant. There is one very small diameter fiber optic connection to an LED sealed deep in the switch. The number on the target face of the new switch will end in Z896.

The old switches may have an open back filled with RTV (Silicon) or may be metal with one hole and LED protruding above the surface of the switch. The old switches will not have the number Z896 on the target face of the switch.

Please contact Terry Doyle at 504-467-9591, Ext. 324, if further assistance is required.

Thank you for your continued confidence.
