Dear Dealer/Customer:

We are aware of pucks in the isolator assembly of some models are deteriorating faster than anticipated. This document informs you that a retrofit kit will be available in the near future to replace factory installed pucks. The new puck is larger in diameter and manufactured from a different rubber. A complete isolator change is required. If any isolator is changed to the new size, then all isolators must be replaced.

The machines to which the retrofit kits are being prepared are the following:
64046D6N 72046E5N
64046E6N 7205BE5N
64046J6N 72058J2N
64046T6N 72058J5N

A mandatory retrofit is required for machine models 72046E5N, 72058E5N, 72058J2N and 72058J5N. We've have witnessed premature failure of the puck assemblies in these machines which necessitates the mandatory retrofit.

The 64" diameter machines, model numbers 64046D6N, 64046E6N, 64046J6N and 64046T6N, do not require a mandatory retrofit. However, if pucks on these machines fail prematurely, we are prepared to ship a retrofit to replace the isolators and pucks.

Old size pucks will still be available for the 64046 model. If the original pucks perform well in service, then the customer is welcome to replace failed pucks with new original size pucks. However, if desired, MILNOR will prepare a retrofit kit for 64046 models in the field. We have seen some machines operating for a number of years with no puck failure, while other 64046's have reported failures in approximately one year. We would, of course, recommend a retrofit for the machine which reported a failure in one year.

The new pucks will result in an increase of approximately 2 inches to the overall height of the 64046 models and 1.25 inches in height to the 72046 & 72058 models. As a result of the dimensional change, several components (supply injector, tilt stops, shocks) will either be replaced or reconfigured (i.e. change bolt pattern or mounting location).

The customer is asked to choose when to retrofit the machine (as soon as the kits are available, or at some future time). When the decision is made to perfom the retrofit, MILNOR will provide the specific kit for that model and labor compensation to affect the revision. If the decision is made to replace the puck only on 64046 models, then MILNOR will not provide the part or the labor at no charge.

We must speak directly to your technician (while on-site) or the customer to target the correct parts to the customer's plant. Please contact Fred Roberts at Pellerin MILNOR Corporation, 504-467-9591, ext.307, or fax 504-469-9777.

The enclosed computer printout list of machines that we have recorded as being distributed sold by your dealership. If our records are inaccurate or incomplete, we would appreciate your input so that the list can be amended.

Best regards,
