SUBJECT: SHAFT DESIGN CHANGE FOR 72058, 72046, & 64046 WASHER/EXTRACTORS

Dear MILNOR Dealer/Customer:

MILNOR has recently changed the shaft design on our larger washer/extractors (Models 64046, 72046, & 72058). The new shafts are forged, rather than welded. However the major implementation difference is the smaller diameter of the rear bearing and housing.

Another change incorporated at approximately the same time was the addition of an air injection port to the front bearing housing. The purpose of injected air is to keep contaminants out of the seal cavity. The attached illustrations (BMP97011/97176V) of a front bearing cross section depicts the air being injected behind the excluder seal.

Below is a chart indicating design changes and corresponding model codes for the two modification stated above.
