SUBJECT: 785 & 788 Processor Boards for Coin Operated Machines

PROBLEM: Coin Counting Problems and Error E2.

SOLUTION:
For 08BN785AT, 08BN785ADT, 08BN785AZ and 08BN785ADZ boards (the "785" board), remove the capacitors from location C34 and C38.

For 08BN788AT, 08BN788AZ boards (the "788" board), remove the capacitors from location C39 and C41.

The capacitors in these locations should have not been installed after approximately week 47 of 1998, as the production fix for this problem. However the problem was reported and capacitors were found in boards as recent as mid 2002. So, when encountering such errors, please be sure that the capacitors are removed from the board.

Please pass this info onto the Service Engineers within your organization.
This bulletin will also be posted on the MILNOR web page for your future review, if needed.
