SUBJECT: MILNOR AIR CYLINDER ACTUATORS

Dear MILNOR Dealer/Customer:

Recently, we have seen MILNOR air cylinder actuators for ball valves and dump valves "leak by" when air was applied.

We have isolated this problem to that of a piston cup hardness issue, where the piston cup was too hard to seal to the outside of the cylinder wall.

We've since changed the durometer (hardness) of the piston cup. You should find the piston cup pliable with little force required to bend in the cup lip.

If you see cases in the field where air cylinders are "leaking by", please change the piston cup with one that is soft and pliable. These are currently in stock at MILNOR.

If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.

Best regards,
