SUBJECT: MILNOR PRESS -- IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

As is the case with all MILNOR machinery, the MILNOR membrane press is equipped with numerous safety devices and interlocks (and the traveling basket -- or sled -- certainly minimizes the need for correcting faults in the main press -- a frequent requirement of some other presses).

Still, with any machinery, it's very important to exercise extreme caution in several respects, including the following:

-- NEVER PUT ANY PART OF YOUR BODY WITHIN THE MAIN BELL AREA, except when (a) factory-supplied safety supports are secured in position, AND (b) main power is locked off. Then proceed with extreme caution.

-- NEVER PUT ANY PART OF YOUR BODY WITHIN THE PRE-PRESS unless main power is locked off. Then proceed with extreme caution.

-- NEVER ENERGIZE POWER TO THE PRESS WHILE PERSONNEL ARE WORKING on the components within the press frame.

-- NEVER OPEN ANY ELECTRICAL CONTROL DOOR WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE POWER (except when a qualified, licensed electrician is performing authorized maintenance/troubleshooting).

-- WHEN THE SLED IS FULLY EXTENDED, IT PROTRUDES about 3 inches beyond the front of the press. STAND CLEAR.

While we have not heard of any accidents with the MILNOR press (and we have with some other presses), we still must emphasize there is no substitute for following safety guidelines such as above.

Enclosed is an extra press and safety stand label, in case you need it, plus a safety precaution page from the tech manual. I urge you to make use of this safety information.

Sincerely,

PELLERIN MILNOR CORPORATION
